Tips and activities

Within CED we have started a virtual ‘Cookbook Club’. Each fortnight one member selects an online cookbook/cooking blog/recipe website and shares this with the rest of the group.

Everyone then choses a recipe from this resource and cooks it. We come together fortnightly via Microsoft Teams to share what we have made (links to the recipe, photos or live action – Master Chef style). We also chat about how we would change the recipe in the future and most importantly rate the recipe using the ‘how many daffodils out of ten’ rating system.

We aim to select recipes that promote ‘heathy eating’ in line with Cancer Council Victoria goals, for example this week we heard about white sauce made from cauliflower, cannellini beans and homemade kimchi.

Coming together each fortnight in a relaxed social setting also helps us to maintain social connectedness and provides inspiration for weeknight meals, home-schooling lunches and more.
