All Victorians are feeling the impact of the second round of lockdowns, for some, it’s much more challenging than the first time. We understand that supporting employee health and wellbeing during this time can be difficult. To help, here are some simple health and wellbeing messages that can be directly copied and shared via your workplace’s communication channels including email updates, on the intranet or in newsletters.

Message: How to eat well with new shopping habits

We know that for some our shopping habits have been impacted including financial challenges, supermarket buying limits and some stock being temporarily unavailable. To help you find inspiration to maintain a balanced, nutritious diet, the following resources may be useful.

Message: Master healthy food swaps

Eating well is an important part of maintaining health and wellbeing. If you can’t find what you need at the local supermarket, most of the time you can make healthy ingredient swaps.

Also, as we’re all trying to reduce our number of trips to the shops, meal planning will be a great way to help you maintain a balanced diet and stick to a budget. Check out LiveLighter’s online meal plans.

Message: Four at-home tips to build movement into your day

The current lockdown restriction may mean you’re not moving as much as you’re used to. Keeping active is beneficial for both your mental and physical health. To build more activity into your day, try these tips:

  1. Run, walk or star jump on the spot for 30 seconds to get your heart rate up
  2. Stand up during virtual work meetings
  3. Set timers to get up, stretch and walk around
  4. Challenge yourself to do wall push ups or calf raises.

Message: At-home workouts

Keeping active is beneficial for both your mental and physical health. Exercising in your living room is a great way to boost your activity levels and even an opportunity to connect with others for motivation and encouragement. For inspiration, check out these videos:
