An update on the future of the Healthy Workplaces Achievement Program

Thursday 13 March, 2025

After 12 successful years, the Healthy Workplaces Achievement Program is coming to an end. Since its launch in 2013, this program has positively impacted the health and well-being of over 400,000 Victorians across more than 1,100 workplaces through a whole of organisation approach.

While the workplace component of the Achievement Program is concluding, the early childhood services and schools pathways will continue, with enhancements set for release in late 2025.

This refined focus will help us to maximise impact with the available resources in the places where children and young people learn and play.

Transition and Support for Workplace Members

Direct support for workplace members from the central Achievement Program team at Cancer Council Victoria, including workplace recognition and access to resources, will remain available until 30 September 2025.

To support workplaces through this transition, we have provided an FAQ document which includes other recommended workplace health programs and resources.

We encourage participating workplaces to submit for recognition of any remaining health priority areas and download relevant resources before the program concludes.

All stakeholders will receive communication and guidance throughout this transition process.

Looking Ahead

The Healthy Workplaces Achievement Program has driven lasting improvements in employee health, with workplaces across Victoria making meaningful changes in key areas such as smoking cessation, healthy eating, physical activity, mental health, and reducing alcohol and other drug use.

We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the program and the positive changes created by our member workplaces. We extend our gratitude to all participating organisations for their commitment to workplace health and well-being in Victoria.

Thank you for being a part of this journey and for your dedication to creating healthier workplaces.
